2027: 20th anniversary
Cheibe Balagan, the Klezmer band from Zurich celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2027 And there's a considerable need for clarification, especially: What should Klezmer sound like in the 21st century, aside from the familiar Kvetsh embellishments? Shouldn't we start thinking about this when the hundredth concerned audience member asks: "A drum kit? Does that even belong in a Klezmer band?" Cheibe Balagan answers. With new themes, audacious electric guitar solos, iconic game and pop homages, and a new repertoire of absolutely indestructible traditional tunes.
