Jürg Halter is a freelance writer, spoken word artist, and visual artist. He is among the best-known Swiss artists of his generation. To date, he has published 11 books and 7 music albums (five of them under his faded, flamboyant pseudonym Kutti MC), written plays and essays, held exhibitions both in Switzerland and abroad, and performed in over 20 different countries in Europe, Africa, the USA, South America, and Asia. Furthermore, Halter is considered a gifted improvisational artist, whether performing solo or with artists such as Stephan Eicher, Polo Hofer, Sina, or Dieter Meier (Yello). Endo Anaconda once said of Halter: "Jürg Halter is an improvisational genius."«
Having made a name for himself in recent years primarily as a socially critical writer and visual artist, Halter is now working on his first solo stage program. This will be a mix of new and old, both poetic and ironic dialect texts, improvisations, and the brilliant musical accompaniment of Noemi von Felten.
