Nadja Zela is considered a striking exception in the Swiss music scene. What once began in the Zurich underground scene led to the indie rock formation Rosebud to a powerful solo career in alternative rock. Her music is personal without being private—poetic, political, and full of humor.
Zela thinks in concept albums, telling stories of loss, resistance and hope. As a mother of two, who performed heavily pregnant and later, as a young widow, Andromeda Requiem created, she is an uncompromising artist with attitude.
In recent years, she received the Arvore scholarship, furthered her education in film composition, founded her own studio, and developed cross-genre live formats. Now she's back with a new album – raw, honest, and distinctive.
